About

Founded – Humboldt County 2016

The Cannabis Horticultural Association (CHA) was formed early 2016 in Humboldt County, California.  It is peer network of earth scientists that study the fields of Botany, Plant Physiology, Plant Genetics, Soil Science, Chemistry, BioChemistry, Entomology and Plant Pathology. The CHA membership offers horticultural knowledge covering management practices for Organic Farming, Biocontrols and Integrated Pest Management. We strive for the Cannabis Horticultural Association to be an authoritative and first choice for people seeking to learn how to cultivate clean, high grade cannabis through the objective information and education on sustainable and regenerative management practices. We are cultivating a new industry standard for ecological horticulture.

Russell B. Pace III

B.S. in Geology (focus in Geochemistry and Hydrogeology)

Russell Pace is the founder and president of the Cannabis Horticultural Association (CHA). He formed the CHA to study the horticultural science of cannabis and to help teach people how to grow clean high-grade organic cannabis around the world. He first fell in love with cannabis when he visited Tibet at the age of 12. He has been cultivating cannabis medicinally for over 20 years now and he has spent the last 10 years of his life in Humboldt County, CA studying Botany, Plant Physiology, Soil Science, Entomology and Plant Pathology. He is highly proficient at organic cultivation practices and has networked himself with many business leaders and a strong Advisory Board to provide a solid framework for expanding his platform of Integrated Plant Management through ecological methodologies. On a side note, he has also served as the President of the Willow Creek Fire Protection in a volunteer capacity for the last 7 years. He currently occupies many roles in the cannabis industry:

  • Cannabis Cultivation Consultant
  • Research Scientist for CHA
  • Speaker for Cultivation Workshops
  • Speaker for Cannabis Conventions
  • Curator of this website
  • Writer for Horticultural Magazines (see referenced articles below)

Mission

The mission of the CHA is to study the horticultural science of cannabis and to conduct, promote and encourage research and education for ecologically sound management practices and to facilitate cooperation and knowledge transfer on a global scale through its research, memberships and scientific structure. Another aspect is fostering symbiotic partnerships with the horticulture industry and other institutions, agencies, organizations, businesses and communities.

We are building an online horticultural research center. This resource center is the hub for which we disseminate pertinent research we collect through our memberships, experiments, case studies, research, reviews and publications.

Through our peer network of scientists, advisors and industry experts, we provide feedback to our community and address their questions. This allows us to maintain the highest standards of cultivation with expert advice and personalized service. Our website offers a management tool towards a sustainable platform for the entire industry. We strive to provide plant management data for the small home gardener all the way up to commercial farming, furthering the modes of ecological management for regenerative solutions.
